Conclusion
Community service is
repeatedly symbolized by pictures of hands. The picture above is an example of
the many entwined hands. But, why is this image so strong? The answer is simply
the message in the picture. Men and women, of every race are physically
connected to represent how service creates a community, not an individual. The
teenagers of today are some of the most fortunate young people of all time. We dismiss
the multitude of opportunities given to us and pay more attention to cell
phones, internet, TV, fashion, and social lives. We complain about the amount
of homework we have and other problems that are miniscule compared to those who
need help. Community service is the perfect medication for this self-inflicted
illness. With community service, an increase in confidence and happiness is
achieved and contributes to refined morals and a wholeness of character. The
goal of a community service requirement is not to stress students, or force
students into an unnecessary activity. Instead, it changes a student’s life and
